I guess so. But the thing is – this is the tech world and people want bezel-less designs, sleek and efficient. This just sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe it’s just me, I’ll never understand fashion!! 😎

A perfectly reasonable guess would be the look they were going for – take a look at the average men’s diving watch. The G Watch R fits right in.

Thanks, that’s clear enough, though the existence of the monstrous bezels still isn’t explained. Look at the photos on the link you gave – there’s no need for bezels ALL the way round the display. No need at all.

I’ll tweak the wording the review, though.

The G Watch R and Moto 360 took vastly different approaches to solving the same problem – where to hide the display drivers. While Moto decided on a tiny bezel, a portion of the display had to be “cut off,” leaving a display that’s not fully round. LG on the other hand, chose to use a fully round display, and the larger bezel is where the drivers are hidden.

You have evidence for this? The specs say a square panel and the bulk of the main frame is artificial, clearly to encompass the display’s corners in something of an optical illusion.

Or maybe you’ve taken it to bits and have photos?
