You have to realize that the 1st option, the military style strap that is one continuous strap, doesnt allow you to charge or take heart rate. Also, it is too thick to easily come in and out of the watch when needed.

Hey.

Could you tell me what (in your opinion) will be best choice for 18-young boy? I am sure that I want Stainless Steel strap but I’m torn between bands with individual elements and the ones with mesh design. Also which colour do you think will suits better LG G Watch?

In reply to Web and IT Studio. That's a sensible decision. However, since I've gone for the G Watch and LG seems to have completely missed the mark on the band that it shipped with it (cheap and manly), I had to order some replacement straps now to have them as soon as possible. Also the G Watch is simply black, compared to the Gear Live's black and silver look, so finding something that fits is a bit simpler.

In reply to Pete Gordon. I got a couple of straps myself for the G Watch, including a few colored Military style ones, a stitched silicone, and a silver and black stainless ones. Excited to see if they make it look any better than that horrid cheap black band LG shipped with it.

I’d like to get a metal watch band for my Samsung Gear Live. Something like this would be ideal… http://www.thewearablestuff.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Samsung-Gear-2-Interchangeable-Bands-Metal.jpg But, I’ll likely have to wait for the feel and color of the watch and compare it to ones in the store, also. We’ll see. Excited to get the AndroidWear device.

I’ve pre-ordered the Samsung Gear Live and will wait to see how the standard strap feels before thinking about a replacement. Then, if I do decide to swap it, I’ll go to a shop where I can hold them against the watch to see which goes best. I am unlikely to choose a leather strap for waterproofing and durability considerations.
